About Forrest Bump
Forrest Bump is a DJ and produces Melodic Techno from Marseille, in the French Riviera. Influenced by artists like Victor Ruiz and Boris Brejcha, he decided to become a DJ and bring his own compositions to life. On July 17 2014, then a member of another project, he seized the opportunity to do Boris Brejcha’s closure in Marseille. Next, in 2015 and 2016, he followed NTO as his sound technician on his festival tour, including Dour and I Love Techno.
From the first project to the first album
These are the reasons why in 2022, inspired by Afterlife artists like Tale of Us, he released his first project Subway. He eventually managed to capture attention with the tracks Subway and Storm, giving a try to Melodic Techno.
Then, his debut album Alone in the Sea was released on 23 June 2023, highlighted by the first single Escape from the Light on 12 May. The desire to strike hard right from the start by initiating a new creative cycle is strong. As a result the track Alone in the Sea reached 20,000 views on YouTube in just 3 weeks, followed shortly by Blackwood. Thus demonstrating the growing interest in Forrest Bump’s project.
Forrest Bump experiments with elements inspired by steam punk, cyberpunk and space operas universes, adding a unique touch in bulding its own. That’s where electronic music and these worlds meet in a singular way.
Starfield made the way to Clubbing TV
After that, his single Starfield, a techno-futuristic musical journey throught the stars, was released in September 2023. This new track revealed his progress in terms of production, and his ever-increasing exploration of the possibilities offered by electronic music. With Starfield, Forrest Bump blends science fiction and techno rhythms, offering a unique aural journey through the stars. As a result, Starfield let him record a DJ Set on Clubbing TV (watch here).
Quantum, the link between Alone in the Sea and the next project
Lastly, on 5 January 2024, his new single Quantum was revealed. This direct sequel to Starfield extends the journey of the Alone in the Sea album, confronting us to the unknowns of space-time, physics and gravity. They are represented by a massive kick all along the track, and the nervous synths set an out-of-control situation, eventually boosted by a second part slowing down then speeding up again until the drop crashing with the cry of the space traveler. As a result, with Quantum, Forrest Bump gives us a more nervous composition, experimenting mixing Melodic Techno with some Trance vibes.
